Meet the Team
Clive Scherer is the Owner of SDK Expeditions and has over 20 years, teaching watersports across the world.
A PADI Dive instructor since 2002 with over 4000 dives. A surf, and kite instructor since 2005, and an RYA Yachtmaster for both power and sail . Working for top resorts and boats across the Globe for 15 years and running his own kite/surf/dive centres in Mozambique and South Africa. Clive has a wealth of experience, local knowledge and a bunch of great travel stories to make any trip very special.
Specializing in designing Expeditions for high profile guests and leading these expeditions From Africa to Seychelles, Maldives, Brazil, Peru, Europe, Indo, Mentawai’s, Costa Rica, Fiji, Caribbean and many more.
My passion is “fun in the water” and helping people learn quickly and safely how to navigate the ocean and have fun in it.
Travis Holthauzen is the owner of the Dolphin Centre in Ponta do Oura Mozambique. An incredible surfer, kitesurf and lifelong ocean man. Travis is connected to the ocean and knows more about the Mozambiquan coast for surf, kite and dive than almost anyone.
He also happens to be one of the nicest, humblest people and an excellent teacher – on and in the water.
Travis is a veteran of the survivor TV show Series. He has been the senior skipper and leader of the water safety team for more than 12 years.
Pile is the Owner of the Watersport Center Kiteschule-Sylt.
A standout rider, in 2004-2008 he placed in the Top Ten Ranking PKRA Kiteboard World Tour He also has multiple German Kiteboarding and Windsurfing Competition Wins and Podiums.
Pile is an exceptional talent on any board whether surf, kite, foil or wing. His achievements speak of his level of riding. As a coach and instructor Pile is one of the best. His technique and dedication to the student is like his riding- first class.
Pile has over 20 years experience travelling to some of the best locations for wind and waves and knows all the secret spots. Especially towards Europe, Brazil, South America and Cape Town. He has extensive local knowledge and is also one of the coolest and fun people you will ever meet.
Donna Scherer is part women part fish. A PADI master Scuba dive instructor for 17 years, she has many fishy stories to tell. Also a professional photographer. Her work has featured in several magazines. She rips on a SUP surfboard, and is an ISA SUP and surf instructor for over 10 years. Very experienced in all things liquid, she is great with kids as well. Her passion is to help people be the best they can be, overcome their fears and enjoy the ocean,
